Summer Holidays 4 weeks done, 3 to go!
Week four of the school summer holidays and we are really enjoying them (lets park the lack of freelance income, its only money!) We’ve had a fantastic two weeks in Cornwall, thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics on TV, in Manchester at Exchange Square and at Old Trafford. We’ve seen Mickey’s Magic Show at The Lowry, a little blogger gathering at Media City CBeeBies for Justin’s House and a couple of trips to Red House Farm. A rainy Monday was the ideal chance to see the new Disney movie Brave, this cinema trip was the first for Diva G and she really enjoyed it.
Diva G isn’t three yet, not until mid October so I wasn’t sure how she would cope with 100 minutes of Brave but she was absolutely fine. Brave is a great story about a mother and challenging daughter, aren’t they all challenging?! Brave is a story about Merida, empowered from a young age by her father with a bow and arrow her mothers intentions to marry her off in the traditional way to a chosen suitor sees her seek an ill fated wish from a not so well intentioned witch. An adventure of soul searching for both mother and daughter Brave is far from girlie with bears and vikings set in the Scottish Highlands with fantastic voices from Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson. Need an indoor school holiday activity, Brave is worth a watch.
Our Summer fun doesn’t stop either – Diva G and I are going to see Angelina Ballerina at The Palace on Saturday, Lil H is off to LEGO® Ninjago Cinema Club and then me and the two kids are jetting off for a week of sunshine in Cala D’Or, Majorca back just in time for the not missed one iota, school run!

Just came across your blog via geekmum! I’m a cheshire dad, and my 4 year old starts school in a couple of weeks. Not looking forward to summer holidays next year, not sure what’s going to happen!

Hi Matt, thanks for popping by my blog! By the time you get to summer 2013 you’ll be so pleased to not have to race about in the morning for the school run and to have lots of time back with your daughter, you will welcome the holidays! Honest! Claire x

I just visited your blog, it seems you really enjoyed your summer holidays. Mums and dad get conscious during holidays because they have to entertain their kids any how. Well, for most of the parents vacations are like an alarming season, but it can be as normal only if they actually know how to keep their toddlers creatively involved or happily occupied in summer with various kids activities.
