It doesn’t matter how often you clean your home, there are always going to be certain areas that are dirtier than any other. This is often due to the amount that these areas are used, as well as the purpose that they are used for. It’s so easy to overlook certain areas and think that they are clean, but this can have negative impacts on your family’s health, so it’s important to know exactly where in your home is often the dirtiest and keep on top of cleaning it.

  1. The Bedroom

Believe it or not, the bedroom is actually one of the dirtiest places within the home. Even though you spend most of your time in there and you may frequently change your bed sheets and hoover your floor, you’d be surprised at just how much dirt lurks beneath the surface. The important thing to remember is that if your bedding is not changed frequently, you run the risk of skin irritation, bacterial infections, allergies and often even breathing issues. It may seem like your bedding is clean and fresh due to the freshly washed sheets, but are you cleaning your duvet, blankets and pillows often enough? Once you remove the sheets and covers you are left with the potential for bed bugs, mites and bacteria that could linger there. Take a look at the cleaning instructions on your pillows, blankets and duvet and try to give them the clean they deserve at least once every month.

  1. The Kitchen

You won’t be surprised to find that the kitchen is another dirty place within the home. We spend hours a week trying to maintain that sparkle and keep the space feeling and smelling fresh, but are you focusing on what’s going on behind closed doors? The oven, fridge and microwave are three areas in the kitchen that are almost always overlooked. Whilst its important to have a fresh, squeaky clean view from the outside, it’s always hard to put an hour or two aside to clean the insides. This is where you often find that infections can come from, whether it’s from a mouldy patch of cheese that was left in the fridge, or you have some bacteria in the microwave that has made its way onto some fresh food you put in there, bacteria can spread and it’s really important to keep on top of a clean kitchen. With some strong cleaner which can be found here and an hour or two a week, you can keep on top of a tidy and clean kitchen without having to worry about potential health risks.

Another area within the kitchen that is almost never cleaned properly is the cabinets. Again, many people focus on wiping down the cabinet surface, but do you spend the time wiping down the cabinet pulls? Probably not. This is a harbour for bacteria, with constant use every day that bacteria can really build up and spread to other places within the kitchen.

Often, we don’t see how dirty our kitchen has gotten until it’s time to move out, especially if you are renting your home and you are leaving the property. With packing and arranging the move taking a big chunk of your time, it is advised you employ the help of end of tenancy cleaners to give your kitchen, and the rest of your home, a thorough deep clean. Doing so will not only go towards getting your deposit back when you leave, but it will also be a pleasant place for a new tenant to move into.

  1. The Bathroom

This part of the home is always considered to be the dirtiest, but you’d be surprised at the areas you need to focus on. People often clean their toilets, showers and baths weekly, which is really important, but how often do you clean your sink, toothbrush pot and shower products? It may seem weird to have to clean the products that you use to clean yourself, but the grime that can gather in the caps and lids of shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and so on is unbelievable. Giving these products a quick wipe down after each use will help to remove any lingering bacteria or dirt that could cause your bathroom to store grime scale and so on. Make sure you’re cleaning your toothbrush and toothbrush pot frequently, along with other unexpected items such as children’s bath toys and flannels, sponges and so on. You can find child friendly cleaning products that are ideal for cleaning their toys here.
