Build-a-Bear for Tommy’s
We were invited to attend an event at Build-A-Bear Workshop supporting Tommy’s in The Trafford Centre. We love Build-a-Bear so were chuffed to bits. If you haven’t seen the bears Lil H and Baby G made last time, you are missing out, click here
We met and chatted with Maxine Clark, Build-A-Bear Workshop founder and Chief Executive Bear. Maxine also blogs personally and we chatted about blogging being something which like us all Maxine wishes she had more time for but there’s a lot of bears to be built and workshops to be run.
Lil’ H, Baby G and I each made a bear which were donated to Tommy’s, specifically supporting the Manchester Research Centre where they have a key focus on researching the placenta, understanding, dectecting and treating issues early to help save babies and parents the devastation of stillbirth. Here are the bears we made for Tommy’s.
Having made the bears for poorly children the children were invited to choose a bear and an outfit to take home, they were thrilled – this was short lived as Lil’ H made another bear completely lacking any cuteness much to my horror! This time he was Star Wars themed in more than just his theme tune. Baby G made up for it with a Hello Kitty in a pink and sparkly fairy outfit oozing in sugar coated cuteness!
Baby was not so sure about Bearemy or Pawlette the Fashion Advisor for Build-A-Bear Workshop, Lil H did not need asking twice for a hug and a photo opportunity!
We also saw Kate who writes The Five F’s, you can read her post and see the bears her guys built here.
Review New Angelina Ballerina DVD
It isn’t just Fireman Sam who’s has a CGI makeover, the prancing dancing mouse Angelina Ballerina has too!
With Lil H’s Fireman Sam DVD Hit Entertainment included Angelina Ballerina’s latest new release Pop Star Girls. This is new territory for me Baby G is only 17 months old and Lil H calls the viewing shots at Lancaster Towers so I recruited some of H’s BFF’s to let me know what they thought of the 60 minutes of poptastic viewing.
What can I say? Girls are born to twirl and there was a lot of twirling and whirling around the room going on. A lot of toe-pointing and toe-tapping throughout the five episodes.
Set in the Camembert Academy (LOL! This was news to me too!) Angelina and her friends dance and learn to work together as a team and Angelina realises there there is more to life than just ballet when she falls in love with Hip Hop, Rock Bands, Fiddles and more!
The room of girlie viewers from 17 months to 5 year olds were on the move and groove and I was surprised Baby G enjoyed it. Lil H retired to his bedroom declaring “let me know when its finished” – definately one for the girls!
Pop Star Girls DVD is released on Monday 21st March 2011, certificate U, contains 5 episodes runs for 60 minutes and is available from http://www.hitstoreuk.com where it is available for just £8.99 (RRP £12.99)
Leaving your mark
We’re putting our house on the market. It’s no doubt going to be a roller coaster, in most cases it is, but it has started well.
We’ve had the estate agents round, they’ve valued our home, a bit Goldilocks stylie one too high, one too low and one just right. It’s was a bit chaotic trying to show the agents round with Lil H and Baby G but they did really well entertaining themselves… or so I thought.
Lil H was busy playing “unsuitable” the game Mr added and I regularly uninstall and based on the discussions had between us H refers to it now as “unsuitable” *sigh* Baby G was mooching about watching a cat stalking birds in the garden … or so I thought.
Estate agent: … I’ll put everything in writing & we’ll speak next week
Me: great thank you, I’ll discuss with Mr L & be in touch
Estate agent: *turns & walks to car*
Me: *GASP*
My daughter had chalked all over the back of his black wool coat. I said nothing. Baby G had graffiti tagged most of the living room with chalk. It will brush off – right?
Mortified! Claire x
