Yesterday I woke up, like the rest of the UK / World, to the news that the Duchess of Cambridge was in labour I felt an unexpected flutter of excitement like she was a friend!  Weird!  I think perhaps the Jubilee and Olympic 2012 celebrations of last year have reignited my inner Brit more than I realised!

One of my clients is The English Ladies Co who have created a beautiful commemorative figurine to celebrate the birth of ‘A Very Special Baby’ so my last 48 hours have been spent riding the #RoyalBaby hashtag so having told the majority of the Twitter-verse many times about this I thought I’d commemorate the occasion with a post here 😉

Limited to only 500 pieces worldwide, the hand made and hand decorated bone china piece will be available as soon as the details of the new prince/princesses’ birth are announced, but pre-orders can be placed now. When the Royal Baby’s name and birth date is announced it will be engraved onto a special plaque applied to the backstamp to commemorate this very special baby.

With 22ct gold tips on the Mother of Pearl decorated water lily, the figurine has been lovingly hand painted in delicate ceramic colours. The water lily is also the birth flower for July and the lily leaf is rich emerald green, thought to be the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite colour.

The figurine comes in a beautiful satin lined box with a certificate of authenticity and it’s certainly a piece to cherish forever.

Priced at £59.99 (USD$92.05) the ‘A Very Special Baby’ figurine is available to buy online at http://www.englishladiesfigurines.com/ you can stay connected on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
