Pizza is THE go to choice when it comes to supper for the kids in the house. I have to confess though that the kids aren’t particularly adventurous when it comes to toppings so pizza night tends leave the adults out.
Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza sent me vouchers to try their latest pizza and asked me to share my thoughts with you on the new Ristorante Pizza Bianca Deliciosa. Here’s what we thought.
There are a few things that made this pizza different to our normal choice of pizza – it wasn’t a delivered takeaway, it was frozen rather than fresh and it didn’t have a tomato base.
Wait! Can it even be pizza without tomato sauce base?! Let me tell you – instead of the traditional tomato base, this pizza had a creamy white sauce – it sounds good doesn’t it? It is also most definitely pizza!
Cheaper & Faster Than Takeway
There is a so much to like. Compared to a takeaway at £2.50 a pizza we could have three pizza’s and change compared to the cost of just one takeaway pizza. Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
Frozen and ready to cook, it was also ready to eat in around 12 minutes faster than even the nearest delivery service. Compared to cooking a fresh pizza there was no sliding toppings on the way into the oven. It also looked pretty much exactly like the picture on the box – don’t you agree?
The Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Bianca Deliciosa is topped with creamy white sauce, delicious bacon, red onion, mozzarella and Edam cheeses, on a deliciously thin and crispy base. The blend of mozzarella and Edam cheeses complimented the creamy white sauce perfectly. It was light and a delicious alternative to a tomato base pizza. The base was crispy but still soft – no one wants crunchy pizza do they? Bacon and onion was a great topping fresh and tangy without being overpowering.
I’ll be honest – the intention had been to share a pizza between Mr L and I – it was gone in no time and as they only took 12 minutes in the oven we popped another one in the oven – that didn’t last long either!
Next time you want a pizza night, instead of takeaway, I would definitely recommend having a few frozen pizzas in. It will save you a small fortune, and you’re not compromising on taste at all. Also if you fancy something new or aren’t really a fan of tomato and barbecue pizzas try this white sauce based pizza. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
